The essential guide to philanthropy - what it is, how it works, and why anyone can become an entrepreneurial philanthropist.

A Talent for Giving offers a fresh perspective on philanthropy and its related topics. In particular, John Studzinski debunks the myth that philanthropy is a matter of rich people donating large sums of money for capital projects. He champions that we all have talents that can be used to help others, regardless of our financial situation – time, skills, wisdom or resources.

Each chapter covers one of the ‘tools’ in the philanthropic toolbox: Time, Talent, Treasure, Ties, Technology, Trust, Temperature (anger at injustices in the world) and Testimony (persuasive communication of one’s convictions).

Including broader discussions on philanthropy and insights from high-profile figures, this book encourages readers to assemble their own philanthropic skillset to engage with entrepreneurial philanthropy in a meaningful and practical way.
